Nationals stun Maple Leafs

In Toronto, the Stratford Nationals scored four runs in
the eighth inning to stun the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-4 at
Christie Pits.
Trailing 4-2
after seven innings, the big eighth inning led the
Nationals to just their third win in 16 games this
season, while the struggling Maple Leafs dropped to 7-5.
Stratford
starter Justin Pennell went seven innings for the win,
allowing four runs on six hits with five strikeouts and
five walks. Reliever Chadwick Cameron pitched two
scoreless innings to get the save, allowing two hits and
striking out two and walking one.
George
Agopong-Mansah hit a two-run homer and drove in two runs
for the Nationals, while Tyler Graham added a two-run
double. Nathan West added three hits and an RBI for the
winners.
Starter Drew
Taylor pitched seven solid innings for the Maple Leafs,
allowing two runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts
and one walk. But reliever Jeff Reeves allowed four runs
in the eighth on three hits and took the loss.
Dan Gibbons
had a solo homer for Toronto while Damon Topolie had two
hits.
